There are year-round activities in Summit County!

The Summit County Daily newspaper is FREE and the blue kiosk on Ryan Gulch Road at the end of our driveway is stocked daily. The blue kiosk empties early. But The Summit County Daily newspaper is available FREE at the 7 Eleven at the bottom of Buffalo Mountain Drive.

A Calendar (about 4 pages in) lists activities and happenings throughout Summit County. The ads will direct you to find interesting retail and service locations.

It is located in The Outlets shopping center across Rt. 6. The address is 246-V Rainbow Drive -

Outlets at Silverthorne: How can you miss them! Red roofs, blue roofs, green roofs - a shoppers paradise.

• Ski Season Info

The summer season really does not kick into gear until July 1st. But there is plenty to do in May and June - after all those skiiers go home.

Hiking:

• A trail head can be found right across Ryan Gulch Road. Just walk across the street (a little jog to the left) and go up the driveway of the condos….Building CC-DD. Walk through the parking lot to the back, where you will see two storage sheds. The one to the left is where you are heading. Walk to its right side, and you will see the trail going into the National Forest. You will be on the Salt Lick Trail System. The fun is to follow the criss crossing of this system through the woods - so do what we did…… explore. I never found a good map for these trails.
• There is also a trail head for a short hike to Lilly Pad Lake. The trail head is at the top of Ryan Gulch Rd. There is a small parking lot there as well.
